Peter Rogers
This is Peter from Olathe North. What a great weekend for a shoot!
And he chose one of my favorite parks for our location.
Peter is very involved at North. Choir, band, track, football. . . and on and on.
There aren't enough hours in the day for all of his interests and activities.
One of the highlights of his senior year was being on the Kansas State 6A Championship football team.

Florida, Chapter Two
Sunday, Angie and Mark took us to St. Petersburg beach, and showed us some of their favorite places. Ang and Dan enjoying lunch.
Of course, it's been 14 years since we've been to the beach - and what do we get? A craft fair. We spent a little time shopping.
I was "so cold" that Angie's thin Florida blood couldn't deal with it, so after awhile, she went back to the restaurant to warm up and wait for us.
Mark didn't last too long after that, but did spend a little time along the shoreline with us.
Taking Dan anywhere; there is always a risk of hilarity breaking out. Here is sponge-snot . . .
and I'm not sure what this tasty morsel is - something totally inedible, you can bet.
Dan and I loved the sun, the wind, the waves and the sounds of the surf and the gulls.
and quoting Liz Lemon from "30 Rock" - - "I want to go to there!" . . . again sometime!
A perfect place to spend Valentine's day!

Florida Trip
Santa was very good to Dan this year. As you may recall, he received plane fare to Tampa, and tickets to see his very favorite band - Yonder Mountain String Band in Ybor City.
Ybor is part of Tampa, like Westport is part of Kansas City. Actually, Ybor is very much like Westport.
Ah - Yonder's Tour Bus. Dan stopped me while walking down the street to introduce me to someone. I thought it was one of the many friends he's met while following the band around. I was introduced as his mom who gave him this cool trip for Christmas. This guy, then says, "Hi, I'm Ben. You'll be seeing me play bass tonight." Really nice kid - and a great bass player!
Ta-da! Here they are (Ben is second from the left)
Dan knew tons of people there. This is random guy on the left, with Gary from Lawrence on the right - sporting a D-Boogy Brim, by the way. Gary has been on the entire winter tour.
There will be more of the Florida trip coming up in the next post.

Locks of Love
Dan decided once again to again donate his hair to Locks of Love - so the first step is to brush it out, band it up, and get the scissors!
To donate for a wig for a child, the ponytail has to be at least ten inches long.
The section in the back isn't quite that long, but hair that they cannot use, is sold to support the mission which is: . . . "to return a sense of self confidence and normalcy to children suffering from hair loss by utilizing donated ponytails to provide the highest quality hair prosthetics to disadvantaged children."
The first time Dan donated was when he cut his hair to start off his senior year of high school, back in 2006. I think this current crop has been growing about two years.
The chop-job done on the ponytails produced quite a rad look. Drew is not really sure of what he's gotten himself into!
But he happily joined in the process and fixed the mess I created.
I might add - Drew did a fabulous job with the clippers! I think I recognize that handsome face!

Winter. Enough Said.
It just started snowing again. . .so here are some images from Winter 2010, so far. This one is off my front porch of my pink dogwood tree. There was a drip from the gutter above, so only this branch was frozen.
I spent a lovely morning with Nancy and Heather and their families, so I stopped to snap a few at the Cedar Creek waterfall.

And another very cool thing was sharing that great season with his "little" brother Josh.

Here is just a little bit of what we did together yesterday.

He is just crazy about Valerie and his baby girl!
